Simona Ahrnstedt is Sweden’s foremost (and only, to be perfectly honest) romance writer. In January 2007 she decided to write a historical romance trilogy. Mercifully, she had no idea how unbelievably difficult it would be to write anything historical at all, much less a trilogy, set in three different time periods, and she began happily tapping away. Her idea was a trilogy that would span the life of a castle over the centuries, under the ownership of three different men: a medieval knight/warrior, a sailing count, and an industrialist/capitalist.
Ms Ahrnstedt’s debut novel came out 2010. To date, it has been sold to eight countries and has received very favorable attention. Most significantly, her books have created in Swedish female readers an awareness of (and a craving for! ) the fabulous genre of well-researched historical romance fiction.
Ms Ahrnstedt works during the days as a certified psychologist. She lives in a tiny house outside of Stockholm, where she with great pride and success is raising her two children, with somewhat less success is tending her very small garden and – sadly – with no success whatsoever, is trying to train her two Siamese cats. Before she became a psychologist she wanted to be a gardener- and before that, a lawyer. And before that she was convinced she wanted to ”do something with film.”
Today she is a CBT-therapist and is very happy that this allows her to sit at home in her kitchen at night and write historical romance novels- her true passion in life.

Although she has sworn – many times – never to embark on grueling period research ever again, she is currently working on her third novel- a historical romance set in Sweden, in the year 1685. And, as always, she thinks it is the most fascinating year ever!
