Simona Ahrnstedt was born in Prague and moved to Sweden with her parents at a very young age. Besides being one of Sweden’s best-selling authors, she is a licensed psychologist and cognitive behavioral therapist. Ahrnstedt’s rich and captivating character depictions, paired with her provocative and daringly executed plots, breathed life into the now rapidly growing genre of Scandinavian women’s fiction. Alongside her role as novelist, Ahrnstedt is a spokesperson for books by women, for women and about women.
She’s also spearheading Bonnier’s new romance imprint where she is a senior advisor.
Simona who is an avid feminist, and a passionate fika lover lives outside of Stockholm with her two teenagers. She is cofounder of the Swedish Romance Academy, a literary academy whose aim is to promote the romance genre in Sweden. She sadly prefers TV to exercise.
The books
After publishing three historical novels: Överenskommelser (Arrangements), Betvingade (Coercion), and De skandalösa (Scandalous) Simona embarked on a new adventure, forever changing the Swedish publishing scene.
In 2014 she launched her first contemporary novel, En enda natt (All In). The book became a huge success, selling to over 20 territories and receiving a starred review in Publishers Weekly. It was later followed by En enda hemlighet (Falling) in 2015, which also received a starred review and was called “outstanding”. The final installment of the series, En enda risk (High risk), was published in 2016. In 2017 she released; All or nothing, a humorous take on sexism, body positivism and the world of marketing. In 2018 her erotic short story A Valentine´s miracle was published. In October 2019 JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE was released. 2020 she celebrates her 10th anniversary as writer and her fast paced novel Hearts on the line was released.
